- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 slices of ham
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: fresh chives or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Puff Pastry: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into 4 equal squares.
- Layer the Ingredients: Place each square on a lined baking sheet. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each square, then top with a slice of ham and a generous sprinkle of Gruyère cheese.
- Create the Egg Well: Fold the edges of the puff pastry slightly inward to create a border, keeping the egg in place during baking.
- Add the Eggs: Carefully crack one egg onto the center of each puff pastry square.
- Bake: Place the tray in the oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and the eggs are cooked to your liking.
- Serve: Remove from the oven, season with salt and pepper, and garnish with fresh chives or parsley if desired. Serve warm.
